📋 Description

• Prepare and review engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical aspects of components, systems, and structures associated with the NSSS. • Maintain and revise computer-aided design (CAD) models using Siemens NX and related engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards and best practices. • Utilize the results from BPVC Section III evaluations to optimize component design. • Collaborate with peers in different organizations and engage in the engineering change control process to ensure design decisions are well-communicated and well-understood. • Review design work of other groups (within and without the NuScale organization) to gain and maintain an understanding of how components, systems, and structures will work together. • Speak to the design of NSSS Components in discussions with manufacturing partners to ensure design intent is maintained while fabrication of components is considered. • Perform other duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required. • A professional engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred. • Minimum of 8 years of full-time relevant working experience is required. • Candidates must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience with engineering design, including personal accountability for design decisions. • Thorough understanding of engineering drawings per ASME Y14 is strongly preferred. • Design experience with commercial nuclear components or BPVC Section III is strongly preferred. • ASME Design Specification Certifying Engineer experience is preferred. • Familiarity with stress engineering analysis (design by analysis methodology) is preferred. • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
