• Support development, testing, and operation of the NuScale control room simulator and other software projects • Develop software according to NuScale procedures and processes to maintain configuration control • Identify and resolve software defects using issue-tracking software • Implement solutions for errors and identify common-cause issues affecting software performance • Solve problems using professional operational principles and company objectives • Work under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives • Collaborate with team members to vet solutions and deliver high-quality deliverables • Set up and maintain hardware, including installing computers and monitors and connecting cables • Travel occasionally to locations outside Corvallis as required • Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum B.S. degree in software engineering, computer programming, computer science, or another technical degree from an accredited college or university • Mechanical or nuclear engineering degrees may be considered with 5 or more years of demonstrable software deliverables • Five or more years of professional software development experience • Experience maintaining high-uptime customer-facing products desired • Working knowledge of Visual Studio and a revision control system such as Git required • Previous experience preferred with GitLab, C#, SQL, WPF, networking fundamentals, and distributed systems • Demonstrable understanding of data structures, architecture, and optimizing efficiency • Strong object-oriented fundamentals • Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 • Ability to communicate clearly using phones, personal interaction, and computers • Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend, understand, and apply new concepts quickly • Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation • Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately without causing a significant safety threat to self or others
