📋 Description

• Provide technical expertise and hands-on support for radiation protection program audits and assessments • Prepare and support radioactive materials license applications and amendments • Perform decommissioning and final status surveys • Support TENORM projects and other specialized health physics assignments • Work with clients in fusion energy, small modular reactors (SMRs), and other advanced energy technologies • Evaluate regulatory requirements and licensing considerations for emerging energy technologies • Establish appropriate radiological protection requirements • Work directly with clients to understand needs and develop practical, technically defensible solutions • Perform field surveys and radiological assessments • Conduct data evaluations, technical reviews, and calculations • Prepare documentation and complete other consulting project activities • Deliver scheduled radiation safety and health physics training courses as needed • Monitor and interpret evolving regulations, guidance, and industry developments • Apply regulatory and industry knowledge to client projects and recommendations • Identify potential project opportunities through client interactions and professional relationships • Communicate business development opportunities to appropriate NV5 Dade Moeller staff • Apply technical expertise and project experience to help the division meet operational and financial objectives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, a related technical discipline, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience • 10+ years of technical and programmatic experience in radiation safety or health physics • Demonstrated experience evaluating, developing, implementing, or supporting radiation protection programs • Experience addressing complex technical and regulatory issues • Ability to independently manage assigned technical work, prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills • Ability to clearly communicate technical and regulatory concepts to clients, colleagues, and non-technical audiences • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with clients • Ability to represent NV5 Dade Moeller professionally and credibly • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Webex • Ability to travel 25% • Preferred: Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification through the American Board of Health Physics • Preferred: Master's or doctoral degree in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, or a related discipline • Preferred: Previous health physics or radiation safety consulting experience with public- and private-sector clients • Preferred: Established professional network within relevant industries • Preferred: Experience developing or delivering radiation safety, health physics, or technical training
