📋 Description

• Manage daily DNB accounts • Research accounts to locate required coding documents • Communicate, educate, and establish accountability by identifying trends • Report findings to responsible users, department operational leadership, and HIM and Coding Management • Maintain spreadsheets with trending data and generate reports • Coordinate and lead discussions and meetings with department leadership • Research DNB accounts and communicate with appropriate individuals/departments • Maintain spreadsheets and monitor work queues/dashboard reports • Prepare reports • Serve as a Health Information Department resource • Perform day-to-day operational assignments and other related duties • Remain knowledgeable about applicable federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards • Report known or suspected unethical conduct and patient, employee safety, privacy, or compliance concerns

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • 3 years experience in HIM or related health care field, or an Associate Degree with 5 years experience in Health Information Management or related healthcare field • Basic knowledge of coding practices • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, role-specific software packages, and keyboard • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and follow-through skills • Ability to work with medical staff, nursing staff, ancillary departments, and co-workers • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and make decisions to complete assigned tasks • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of health information and information systems • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts
