📋 Description

• Analyze large, diverse datasets involving business cash flow, financial health, credit, marketplace dynamics, and repayment performance • Identify insights and compelling product opportunities • Partner with Product, Engineering, senior management, and stakeholders to develop and commercialize analytical and data products • Lead analytical and data science efforts to research and develop data and decisioning products • Mentor colleagues from business and technical perspectives • Interact with clients and prospects as a subject matter expert on small business credit and Ocrolus analytics and decisioning products • Develop robust, scalable, and efficient models while balancing complexity, interpretability, customer needs, and timelines • Translate ambiguous business challenges into defined data science problems • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data science models, from exploration and feature engineering through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement • Develop initiatives including transaction classification, loan default and loss-given-default prediction, entity resolution, fraud detection, and small-business financial health and debt-capacity profiling

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in risk management, analytics, and/or data science • Experience building decision strategies and deploying predictive models in production • Significant knowledge of small business credit, including underwriting, pricing, and portfolio management • Expertise using LLMs and cutting-edge AI tools • Full-stack data science/analytics experience across ideation, building, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of production ML models • Deep understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms • Strong software engineering and data engineering fundamentals • Excellent Python programming skills • Proficiency with pandas, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face • Excellent SQL skills and experience with large, complex data warehouses such as Snowflake/Postgres • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or Engineering • Ability to communicate and present complex technical topics and results to varied audiences • Ability to communicate collaboratively with clients and prospects • Experience working with messy, real-world financial data is a bonus • Portfolio of past data science/analytics accomplishments, including source code, is a bonus
