📋 Description

• Lead a cross-functional product team of four to seven engineers, reporting to the CTO • Own the team’s people management, delivery, hiring, and process • Conduct one-on-ones, provide honest feedback, support career growth, and act early and fairly when performance issues arise • Plan delivery with the team, maintain visible commitments, remove blockers, and represent the team in planning and product meetings • Partner daily with the product manager on priorities and roadmap versus technical-health trade-offs • Coach engineers on planning, directing, reviewing, and verifying AI agent work • Guide the team’s evolution of tools, workflows, and engineering best practices • Stay hands-on but off the critical path by coding through agents, reviewing pull requests, and maintaining technical judgment • Run structured hiring and develop existing engineers • Maintain the team’s quality bar and ensure developer-owned quality practices • Use delivery and quality metrics to guide coaching and process changes • Collaborate with an international team working across time zones

🎯 Requirements

• 3 or more years managing software engineers who formally reported to you, including hiring, one-on-ones, reviews, and performance decisions • 5 or more years of hands-on professional software development before or alongside managing • Proven and fluent daily use of AI coding agents, demonstrated through built orchestration flows, agents or skills, or deep tuning of an existing team setup • Experience driving a team’s adoption of agentic workflows • Track record of coaching engineers through growth and difficult situations, including acting early on underperformance • Track record of owning team delivery end to end, including shipping products to production and fixing bottlenecks • Track record of raising and sustaining a team’s quality bar through developer-owned testing and quality gates • Experience partnering closely with product management on priorities and trade-offs • Excellent written and spoken English, roughly C1 level • Experience working day to day on an international team • Nice to have: experience from more than one engineering-team role, such as developer, SDET, QA Analyst/manual tester, or Scrum Master • Nice to have: experience leading and improving agile ceremonies and team delivery practices • Nice to have: experience managing a remote team across time zones • Nice to have: logistics, delivery, or marketplace domain experience • Nice to have: coaching quality practices including developer-owned testing, test-driven development, refactoring, and observability • Must reliably work a schedule frequently matching US Pacific business hours (9am to 5pm PT) • Identity-verified LinkedIn profile required to apply • Identity and work-history verification required before an offer, including a live video ID check and reference calls • Required technical stack experience includes TypeScript, Node.js, React, Rust, and AWS ecosystem
