📋 Description

• Supervise the overall flow of internal and state payroll data through university payroll systems, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance • Process payroll adjustments through the university’s internal payroll system • Process exceptions and reconcile rejected, suspense, return-check, and correction items • Audit contract and hourly payments • Support the PeopleSoft internal payroll application and participate in testing upgrades, updates, and new functionality • Assist with state payroll processing when needed • Monitor legislative changes in Department of Labor, INS, and IRS rules • Perform other duties as required • Support clients in higher education and nonprofit organizations with payroll, grant management, finance, process improvement, technology implementations, and change management

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Minimum two years of professional experience in an accounting, human resources, or payroll office • Demonstrated experience in payroll and payroll processing • Demonstrated computer skills, including spreadsheets, database management, querying, and word processing • Demonstrated analytical skills • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Proficiency in written communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to balance multiple priorities • Ability to interpret institutional policies, plans, objectives, rules, and regulations and communicate interpretations to others • Ability to work with diverse groups and populations • Ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clients • Experience supporting sales and business development • Flexibility to travel periodically based on business and client needs • Preferred: bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field • Preferred: experience with foreign tax compliance reporting, supervisory experience, and PeopleSoft or Oracle ERP systems
