• Support emergency response and natural disaster efforts involving environmental and hazardous materials incidents • Conduct environmental field investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well support, remediation oversight, and accurate field data collection • Assist with planning and executing sampling strategies • Maintain, calibrate, and operate field equipment • Support environmental remediation and compliance projects through data management, quality assurance, technical reporting, permit documentation, and proposal development • Track project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and records • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, laboratories, and regulatory agencies • Maintain field logs, chain-of-custody documentation, timesheets, and electronic databases • Adhere to OSHA, PPE, health, safety, and regulatory requirements • Independently operate monitoring instruments and record measurements • Prepare chain-of-custody documentation for environmental samples • Drive to and from project sites • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline from an accredited four-year college or university • Functional or higher computer literacy skills in a Windows-based environment required • Ability to understand and follow directions • Experience in any branch of the armed forces desirable • Experience and/or proficiency with industrial hygiene equipment desirable • Experience using air and environmental sampling equipment desirable • Relevant experience in emergency response, environmental response, construction management, etc., desirable • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times a day • Ability to perform overhead lifting of over 20 pounds • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, and climb ladders • Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, overnight shifts, and rare 24-hour shifts • Ability to travel frequently and unscheduled for extended periods • Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and extreme weather conditions • Ability to work in environments with physical, chemical, and biological hazards • Ability to wear required PPE, including partially or totally encapsulating PPE, at HAZWOPER sites under 29 CFR 1910.120 • Ability to drive noncommercial vehicles
