📋 Description

• Support the hospital's financial operations through general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, account reconciliations, and data analytics • Prepare and record journal entries • Perform monthly account and balance sheet reconciliations • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities • Reconcile bank accounts and cash activity • Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, prepaid expenses, and accrual schedules • Prepare sales tax, payroll tax, and other required filings • Support external financial audits and cost report preparation • Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, operating and capital budget development • Ensure compliance with GAAP and monitor internal controls • Analyze financial performance, trends, and budget variances • Develop financial models, dashboards, reports, and KPIs • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, Excel, SQL, or other reporting tools • Analyze operational, financial, and clinical data to identify improvement opportunities • Monitor productivity metrics and benchmark performance • Perform trend analysis for patient volumes, payer mix, reimbursement, and revenue cycle performance • Validate data accuracy across financial and operational systems • Automate recurring reports • Maintain financial databases and reporting systems • Ensure data integrity between accounting, payroll, EHR, and revenue cycle systems • Develop standardized reporting processes and perform data validation and reconciliation • Collaborate with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Human Resources, department leaders, external auditors, and other stakeholders • Work additional hours as needed during closing, audits, budgeting, and peak reporting periods

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field required • CPA or CPA candidate preferred • Healthcare accounting experience preferred • Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare experience preferred • Experience with business intelligence reporting preferred • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting • Understanding of healthcare reimbursement and hospital finance • Experience with Medicare cost reporting • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and advanced formulas • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and data visualization tools • Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems • Ability to analyze large data sets and present actionable insights • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines • Ability to work prolonged periods at a computer • Ability to occasionally lift and carry office materials weighing up to 15–20 pounds • Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail for extended periods • Visual ability to read printed documents and computer screens, with or without reasonable accommodation
