• Contribute a clinical and scientific perspective to the local execution plan addressing customer challenges and opportunities • Coordinate execution of field activities with the ecosystem team • Build, cultivate, and leverage relationships with key scientific and medical customers and organizations • Deliver business objectives extending beyond the territory and impacting Medical Affairs • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and Otsuka’s patient-centric strategy • Provide evidence-based clinical, economic, and humanistic information about Otsuka products • Partner with providers and stakeholders to apply real-world solutions that improve patient outcomes • Engage local stakeholders with regional influence • Build internal matrix-team relationships to support an enterprise customer approach • Shape and execute local medical strategies under regional Field Medical leadership • Disseminate disease-state and healthcare-landscape information to customers • Provide clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers • Support Otsuka’s speaker bureau and product educational needs • Collect and submit medical insights supporting evidence-generation and healthcare-solution decisions • Assist with registrational, post-marketing, investigator-sponsored trials, and health-economic outcomes research • Provide clinical expertise and feedback on clinical-trial operations, site selection, and performance • Mentor peers and new hires • Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence
• MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences required • Understanding of healthcare-system interconnectivity and overall patient-care delivery • Experience working with healthcare professionals and other decision makers • Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, clinical, or research experience • Previous CNS disease training or experience preferred • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, Otsuka’s business model, competitors, and marketplace dynamics • Ability to identify solutions focused on improved patient outcomes • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Professional maturity, confidence, and competence • Strong conflict-resolution skills and ability to work cross-functionally • Ability to lead others and project teams strategically • Ability to summarize and communicate complex information and business objectives concisely and effectively • Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements • Ability to work in an ambiguous, transforming environment • Ability to demonstrate Otsuka-aligned behaviors, including perseverance, unconventional thinking, and humility • Ability to travel by air or car up to 70% of the time • Preferred living location is a key city in the territory
