📋 Description

• Report directly to the Area Business Lead, Rare Disease • Coordinate with Medical, Market Access, Patient Support, and Thought Leader Liaison colleagues • Serve as the main point of contact for healthcare provider customers and accounts • Develop a territory-specific business/account plan with strategies and tactics to increase disease-state awareness, implement diagnostic approaches, identify business opportunities, and meet sales goals • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives • Develop knowledge of current and future competition and execute sales strategies • Build and maintain proficiency in relevant disease states, patient and clinic experience, market landscape, and product knowledge • Use available tools, technology, and resources to analyze market opportunities and trends • Navigate healthcare systems including academic institutions, IDNs, community practices, and local patient advocacy groups • Sponsor and display at relevant congresses and society meetings • Track territory progress and uncover opportunities using competitive data, sales data, business reports, and promotional budgets • Educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures to increase pull-through • Network with professional groups to gain access and exposure to potential key opinion leaders • Build relationships with office and practice personnel while focusing on patient health • Deliver office calls and sales presentations using approved marketing materials and technical references • Facilitate clinical dialogue and identify account obstacles to provide appropriate solutions • Develop and position Otsuka as a leader with nephrology stakeholders and other specialty customers and targeted accounts

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • 3 years or more sales experience in rare disease, immunology, renal, oncology, and/or hospital account management strongly preferred • MBA or other related graduate degree preferred • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative targets and qualitative goals in a fast-paced, dynamic sales environment • Ability to interpret, analyze, and leverage data to identify trends, gain insights, drive pull-through, and lead live customer engagements • Strategic thinking to create customer/account engagement plans • Ongoing awareness of trends in area of expertise • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a complex healthcare environment • Expert knowledge of the marketplace, applicable competitors, industry, and matrix functional activities/plans • Understanding of regulatory standards and ability to execute activities in compliance with company policies and guidance • Demonstrated expertise with longer selling cycles and complex patient journeys across a portfolio of products • Ability to navigate academic institutions, IDNs, community practices, and local patient advocacy groups • Ability to execute a rare disease selling model • Ability to sponsor and display at relevant congresses and society meetings • Ability to use promotional materials, technical references, sales data, business reports, and promotional budgets • Ability to educate office staff on payer guidelines and reimbursement procedures • Ability to build relationships with office/practice personnel and key opinion leaders • Competent knowledge of own products and competitors • Commitment to ethical business practices, regulatory compliance, and patient/customer centricity
