📋 Description

• Provide superior service to Export customers and Sales Agents • Respond to inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, freight rates, allocations, delivery dates, quality, and transportation complaints • Receive, process, and track assigned orders through scheduling • Develop production and scheduling strategies aligned with customer deadlines, seasonal demand, vessel cut-off dates, and port constraints • Review Incoterms and ensure shipping terms are correct • Prepare and manage export documentation, including Commercial Invoices and Ocean Tallies • Work with scheduling and customers to trim special Export grades • Collaborate with Ports, Sales, and Forwarding Agents • Visit ports and meet Export Agents • Work with the Sales Manager on monthly export customer requirements, considering production obstacles, seasonality, and market conditions • Execute and assist with special projects • Set up new accounts in AS400 with profile information, account numbers, system comments, wharfage and handling allowances, and commission allowances • Consult internal departments to ensure order completeness, on-time delivery, and accurate invoicing • Communicate significant customer account and order information to internal departments and Sales Representatives • Coordinate requests for product specifications, availability, shipping, quotations, estimates, and samples • Link customers, sales, and production teams to schedule production, secure delivery dates, address order changes, and resolve complaints • Investigate and resolve quality, transportation, and billing complaints, escalating matters when necessary • Follow company policies and procedures and identify ways to improve customer service • Support PCA’s Commitment to Service and business growth philosophy • Gather information, identify issues and relationships, compare data, determine cause-effect relationships, and recommend solutions • Build effective relationships with scheduling, shipping, sales, production, accounting, management, customers, and other stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 8+ yrs. experience in a customer service role • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Eight (8) years’ previous work experience in customer service or logistics/supply chain role • Experience handling customer orders on an order entry system • Experience maintaining/building strong positive customer business relationships • Previous experience using an automated order entry system preferred • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and corporate levels • Strong analytical skills and ability to handle detail-oriented tasks and review multiple documents and reports • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests • Previous experience working in a team environment preferred, or strong understanding of open communication and information sharing • Understanding of Incoterms • Export documentation knowledge (Commercial Invoice/Ocean Tally) • Number aptitude, specifically metric conversions • Understanding of exception pricing and matching PO and system pricing • Sensitivity to all cultures and customs • Ability to exercise discretion in accordance with company policies and ethics
