📋 Description

• Serve as a first-line Business Risk Group advisor embedded within the business • Identify, assess, and mitigate Commercial Finance risks affecting strategic, operational, financial, or reputational standing • Collaborate with underwriting, portfolio, credit administration, and second-line stakeholders • Serve as the primary Commercial Finance regulatory advisor to business units • Monitor the bank’s credit risk profile against Board-approved Risk Appetite • Develop a strong credit culture across the bank • Provide credible challenge to lending decisions, including problem loan administration, underwriting strategies, risk ratings, nonaccrual status, and collateral valuations • Develop and deliver credit-related training to first-line-of-defense staff • Administer and participate in credit committees and working groups • Advise leadership on risk-related decisions • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance • Prepare risk reports and present findings to stakeholders • Leverage data analytics and technology for predictive risk modeling • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field or equivalent education and work • 12+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, lending, loan review, or risk management roles, preferably within banking or financial services • 12+ years of commercial credit experience, including alternative energy, working capital, asset based lending, equipment finance, leasing and government guaranteed lending • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks • In-depth knowledge of credit program design, regulatory requirements, and risk management • Expertise in interpreting and applying regulations, including regulatory risk rating criteria and risk management best practices • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage complex challenges with a risk-aware approach • Ability to work independently while managing multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
