📋 Description

• Design and build new backend systems and APIs for user-facing features. • Evolve and scale existing systems that creators and fans already rely on. • Investigate and resolve issues affecting user experience. • Partner with client engineers on the contracts between your services and their code. • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, designers, and other engineers. • Step into adjacent parts of the stack (frontend, infra, data) when necessary.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent. • 2–3+ years of experience in software development. • Experience with Python or a similar language. • Experience shipping backend systems and APIs powering consumer-facing features and the ability to speak to how you balanced technical constraints with user experience decisions. • The ability to weigh trade-offs clearly and explain technical decisions to stakeholders. • A product mindset, caring about what your systems enable, not just the systems themselves. • Eagerness to take on new problems and grow your technical, collaboration, and leadership skills. • Belief in Patreon's mission: giving creators control over their work and building communities that feel good to be in. • Bonus if you have: Frontend development experience (React, TypeScript).
