📋 Description

• Own the entire finance function and serve as the CEO’s operating partner • Own cash forecasting, cash governance, capital allocation, and growth investment decisions • Manage banking and investor reporting relationships • Assess equity, debt, and non-dilutive capital options • Lead the financial workstream for financings, partnerships, and M&A • Deliver timely monthly close and GAAP-compliant financial statements • Direct outsourced accounting and tax firms • Own commission reconciliation, revenue assurance, and commission receivables recovery • Maintain the chart of accounts and align Brex, payroll, billing, banking, and general ledger systems • Oversee AP, AR, vendor payments, payroll, and tax compliance • Own the three-statement operating model, annual budget, and scenario planning • Deliver monthly financial packages and prepare Board materials • Own LTV/CAC and payback analyses by acquisition channel and distribution segment • Integrate financial data across company systems and build trusted dashboards with the Data team • Manage the mix of in-house staff and outsourced contractors • Select and administer the finance systems stack with an automation-first approach • Partner on compensation and equity modeling, hiring plans, legal and risk matters, commercial partnerships, business development, data analytics, and company OKRs • Build a transaction-ready data room and support 2027 budget development • Guide the company toward scalable growth and achievement of its OKRs

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in finance, including 2+ years as the second-in-command (Director or VP reporting to a CFO or founder) at a venture-backed company • Hands-on ownership of the monthly close, GL, and financial statements • Deep FP&A and three-statement modeling experience • Fluency in scenario analysis, unit economics, and sensitivity modeling • Direct experience with LTV/CAC, payback, and channel performance measurement in a multi-channel or B2B2C business • Proven experience scaling a startup through a period of significant revenue growth • Experience managing Board reporting and collaborating directly with venture firms • Experience managing outsourced accounting, tax, and finance vendors to defined outcomes and budgets • Strong systems orientation across QuickBooks Online, Brex, banking platforms, PEOs, Carta, and BI tools such as Mixpanel or Tableau • Comfort working across HR, legal, and operations topics that fall outside traditional finance • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Familiarity with insurance distribution or commission-based revenue models preferred • Willingness to perform hands-on operational work and act as the entire finance function initially • Clear, direct communication and ability to distill complexity into actionable narratives • Proficiency with ClickUp and AI tools such as Claude for task management and productivity
