• Service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in the assigned region • Maintain generators and diagnose and repair problems • Install and replace components or entire systems • Perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance to ensure generator readiness • Read and follow blueprints or other design specifications for installation and repair • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components • Test installed components and systems for proper operation • Respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms • Perform work safely around hazards associated with power supply equipment, switchgear, and related equipment • Use safety equipment and safety practices • Attend and participate in designated safety and training meetings • Duties may vary or evolve based on business and client needs
• Minimum of one year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes • Two or more years of generator maintenance experience preferred • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components • Moderate computer skills • Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations • Ability to comply with OSHA Standards • Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for long periods • Ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly • Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work day, evening, or night hours • Willingness to work overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required • Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned • Ability to be away from home for extended periods • Must be able to pass a DOT physical • Willingness to travel • Must be able to respond promptly to Power/Generator alarms and assigned phone and email
