📋 Description

• Evaluate responses to test questions by Massachusetts teacher candidates • Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities • Recognize and discuss various types of bias and effective strategies to reduce personal biases in scoring • Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring • Complete training before scoring begins • Attend a brief orientation meeting if scheduled before the scoring day • Work scoring sessions held intermittently every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the subject • Score during sessions scheduled Monday through Friday, generally from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m., including training

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree or higher • A current teaching certification in the subject area being applied for • Practicing or having two (2) or more years’ recent experience in the service role in a public school in the subject area being applied for • OR serving as, or having recently served as, a college/university/program faculty member who prepares candidates for the subject • OR holding a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and being a graduate student currently teaching courses in the subject area • Basic computer skills, including keyboard and mouse use • Ability to sit for extended periods of time • Ability to maintain a confidential work environment • Eligible to work in the United States • Ability to pass a qualifying test before scoring
