📋 Description

• Lead the PMO team and provide day-to-day direction, coaching, support and performance guidance for Project Managers and Program Managers • Manage the enterprise project portfolio, including intake, portfolio health, prioritization visibility, delivery status, risks, issues, dependencies, capacity considerations and executive-ready reporting • Maintain and improve PMO governance routines, delivery standards, templates, tools, reporting practices and decision forums • Partner with Data, AI and Digital Product Managers on product briefs, business charters, roadmaps, quarterly planning inputs and prioritization recommendations • Support Quarterly Increment Planning through intake readiness, delivery feasibility, capacity inputs, dependency visibility and portfolio tradeoff discussions • Assign approved work to appropriate delivery roles based on scope, complexity, dependencies, business impact, risk, capacity and strategic priority • Oversee enterprise portfolio reporting and maintain accurate PMO systems of record • Support resource and capacity alignment across projects, programs and portfolio priorities • Identify and report portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, decisions and tradeoffs; escalate with options and recommendations • Promote consistent project and program delivery practices covering schedule, scope, risk, readiness planning, change enablement and closeout • Provide leadership for escalated project or program delivery issues and help remove obstacles • Partner with finance, procurement, vendor management and business leaders on budgets, vendor engagement, SOW coordination, spend tracking and vendor delivery oversight • Coordinate with architecture, security, risk, legal, compliance, data governance, business continuity and change management partners on impact review and delivery readiness • Develop PMO metrics and insights covering portfolio demand, throughput, delivery health, capacity constraints, value realization and improvement opportunities • Lead PMO process improvements to simplify intake, improve transparency, increase predictability and strengthen planning-to-delivery alignment • Coach and mentor Project Managers and Program Managers on planning, stakeholder communication, executive reporting, risk and dependency management, governance and continuous improvement • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with PEMCO policies, values, code of ethics and business conduct; perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Applicants must be a resident and work from WA, OR, ID, TX, OH, SC, NC, IL or FL • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Analytics or equivalent • 8+ years of experience in project management, program management, portfolio management, PMO leadership, technology delivery, business operations or related roles • 5+ years of experience leading, managing, coaching or formally supervising project, program, portfolio or delivery professionals • Experience managing enterprise portfolio governance and reporting, prioritization routines, executive readouts, PMO systems of record and delivery standards • Experience leading cross-functional stakeholders, business leaders, technology partners, vendors and delivery teams • Working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Agile project methodologies • Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook • Advanced proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet or comparable project, program and portfolio management tools • Experience with quarterly planning, product-led demand shaping, business charters, product briefs, resource/capacity alignment, portfolio tradeoff discussions and delivery governance preferred • Experience supporting business, IT, data, AI, analytics, reporting, architecture, security, risk, compliance, vendor or operational initiatives preferred • Experience in the insurance industry preferred • PMP, PgMP, PfMP, Agile certification or equivalent preferred • Ability to communicate clearly and informatively with colleagues, customers, leaders and executives in technical and non-technical professional language • Ability to analyze, diagnose and resolve complex, ambiguous and cross-functional problems • Proven track record of leading PMO practices across business, technology, digital, data, AI and operational capabilities • Analytical, structured and data-driven approach, including root cause analysis and development of high-quality metrics • Ability to frame portfolio options, risks and tradeoffs and influence executive sponsors and cross-functional stakeholders • Strong understanding of business process, technology, digital, data, analytics, reporting, governance, security, privacy, compliance, AI enablement and operational readiness
