📋 Description

• Lead and deliver bridge and structural engineering projects from pursuit through construction • Develop proposals, including scope, schedule, budget, and client interviews • Build and maintain relationships with clients, agency partners, and teaming consultants across Northern and Central California • Manage multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with civil, survey, environmental, and construction stakeholders • Oversee and mentor engineers preparing PS&E packages, technical studies, reports, calculations, and supporting documentation • Perform and review bridge analysis and design using bridge-specific finite element and section analysis software • Ensure designs comply with AASHTO LRFD, seismic design requirements, and applicable codes and standards • Provide construction support, including site visits, responding to RFIs, and reviewing shop drawings and submittals • Lead bridge inspection and preventative maintenance projects as applicable • Communicate complex technical concepts in writing and verbally while representing the firm professionally • Manage project schedules, budgets, workload, and performance metrics across multiple concurrent assignments

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering is required • California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required • 12+ years of progressive experience in bridge and structural design and project management • Strong understanding of bridge design codes, seismic principles, and construction practices • Proven success in leading teams, client management, and delivering complex capital projects • Must be able to regularly talk, hear, and operate a computer, keyboard, and mouse • Must occasionally lift, pull/push, and carry up to 20 pounds, with accommodations • Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required
