📋 Description

• Lead litigation strategy across Point’s home equity investment platform and other consumer finance products • Manage an assigned portfolio of consumer financial services lawsuits, arbitrations, and class actions • Manage civil and regulatory subpoenas, civil investigative demands, related inquiries, data holds, custodian coordination, and rolling productions • Set and adjust litigation strategy for servicing, payments, credit reporting, title insurance, collections, consumer financial products, and employment matters • Serve as primary contact for outside counsel • Direct case strategy, negotiate and manage litigation budgets, and monitor counsel performance • Organize pre-litigation intake and respond to demand letters and pre-suit claims • Perform early case assessments of regulatory exposure, litigation risk, precedent, and downstream portfolio impact • Support arbitration strategy, including motions to compel arbitration and enforcement of arbitration provisions • Coordinate with compliance and business partners on litigation positions, regulatory expectations, and internal policies • Lead internal fact investigations and prepare witnesses • Provide litigation-risk input on contracts and dispute-resolution provisions • Track litigation outcomes and trends, identify risk patterns and improvement opportunities, and report litigation status, risk exposure, and legal spend to senior management • Report to the Deputy General Counsel with direct access to the General Counsel and senior leadership

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction; must be eligible for in-house practice in your state of domicile • 5+ years of defense-side litigation experience involving consumer finance • Experience responding to and managing civil and regulatory subpoenas and investigations • Experience directing outside counsel and managing litigation budgets across a multi-matter portfolio • Familiarity with consumer protection and lending statutes, including TILA/Regulation Z, HOEPA, FCRA, FDCPA, RESPA/Reg X, UDAAP, and state UDAP laws • Candidates must reside in one of Point’s states of operation: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI • Class action defense experience strongly preferred • Preferred experience with high-volume consumer claims, arbitration practice, class actions, mortgage servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy-adjacent litigation, large-law-firm litigation defense, federal clerkship, and legal AI tools
