📋 Description

• Manage moderately complex estimates within Primoris Power Solutions’ Estimating Department. • Prepare detailed cost estimates for substation, transmission, and distribution projects. • Analyze RFP documentation, drawings, and specifications to fully understand project scope. • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and miscellaneous cost categories using the B2W estimating software. • Develop and validate quantity take-offs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) for substation work and Excel-based tools for transmission line scopes. • Solicit, evaluate, and document subcontractor and vendor pricing, including Best Value Analysis and RFQ management. • Support constructability discussions and means-and-methods development in coordination with SMEs and Project Delivery. • Populate and maintain the Risk Registry, identifying known and targeted risks and their potential cost impact. • Contribute to Basis of Estimate (BOE) narratives and other proposal deliverables. • Participate in and help prepare for Constructability Reviews, Technical Reviews, and Executive Reviews. • Maintain accurate document control across pursuit folders in accordance with SOP naming and filing standards. • Engage directly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors under the guidance of Senior and Lead Estimators.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of estimating experience in electrical utility, substation, transmission, or distribution construction (or a closely related field/environment). • Working knowledge of cost estimating principles, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost development. • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and RFP/RFQ documentation. • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willingness to learn B2W, OST, and Building Connected. • Prior experience with B2W (Bid2Win) estimating software or comparable estimating platforms (preferred). • Familiarity with high-voltage substation or transmission line construction methods (preferred). • Exposure to schedule development tools such as P6 or Microsoft Project (preferred).
