📋 Description

• Assess candidate architectures and modeling approaches based on operational accuracy, latency, and footprint • Develop synthetic data generation tooling and augmentation pipelines • Curate data collected from the field • Train and fine-tune speech recognition and natural language models for specialized, noisy, degraded environments • Optimize model latency and memory usage using benchmarks • Convert research-grade code into efficient production inference runtimes • Build evaluations that measure whether operator commands work in practice • Turn field failures into test cases, training data, and fixes • Improve model training, tracking, evaluation, and release processes • Collaborate with the engineering team through code reviews, technical discussions, and team Q&A

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial hands-on experience training, optimizing, and deploying ML models in production systems • Deep, hands-on experience across speech recognition and natural language understanding, including adapting models to a specialized domain • Deep proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks, including custom training loops, data pipelines, and evaluation harnesses • Demonstrated experience making models meaningfully faster or smaller, supported by benchmarks • Hands-on experience moving models from framework and research code into an efficient, deployable inference path • Degree in CS, EE, Computational Linguistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent proof of ability to do the work • Current authorization to work in the U.S. • Must work independently across time zones and communicate clearly in writing • Applicants must not require visa sponsorship • Desirable: experience deploying models on embedded or resource-constrained GPU hardware • Desirable: defense, robotics, or autonomy experience • Desirable: experiment tracking, model registries, and automated evaluation
