📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the strategic and operational aspects of the engineering department • Advocate for and implement efficient and innovative engineering solutions for clients • Manage, guide, train, mentor, and grow the engineering team and managers • Foster a collaborative and inspiring team environment • Coordinate with department leaders to align engineering projects with business goals • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications • Define key performance indicators for productivity, delivery, and quality • Establish feedback mechanisms and ensure timely follow-up • Apply quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with standards and regulations • Monitor industry trends and technologies to improve services • Manage team utilization and billability targets, implementing action plans when targets are missed • Ensure the team is trained, cross-trained, and equipped for market needs • Review and identify risks for client projects and internal initiatives • Hire and interview managers, QAs, developers, and other staff as needed • Step into projects to resolve blockers • Prevent knowledge silos and improve interdepartmental collaboration • Work with the R&D team on internal initiatives and manage delivery • Ensure engineering team needs are met and provide technical and non-technical guidance • Prevent over-allocation and mitigate burnout • Assess project impact, team composition, organizational needs, and resource allocation • Balance resources between internal initiatives and external client work

🎯 Requirements

• Open to candidates based in the United States • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field • Proven experience in an engineering leadership role, preferably within a consulting environment • Strong project management skills • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities • Exceptional leadership and team management skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Commitment to excellence and continued professional development • 2+ years of development experience at some point during the career • Familiarity with bash scripting, Java, Jenkins, and DevOps • Preference for candidates in the Rockville, MD area • Legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship • Preferred: experience with Salesforce • Preferred: experience in consulting firms
