📋 Description

• Prepare, edit, and submit accurate and timely electronic and manual insurance claims to regulatory payers • Process primary, secondary, late charge, and corrected claims • Review and resolve billing edits in EPIC and the claims scrubber system • Verify accuracy of claims submitted to payers • Reconcile claim runs • Create electronic claim files • Resolve claim errors and interact with the third-party clearinghouse or claims scrubber vendor to produce clean claims • Identify recurring billing errors and trends and report them to the supervisor when necessary • Research and analyze coding errors • Document billing issues and trends • Assist with problem-solving and solutions • Process credit balances due to regulatory payers

🎯 Requirements

• Coursework/training in medical terminology and medical coding from an accredited school, or equivalent on-the-job training in a billing role • 1 year of experience in hospital insurance regulatory billing, including Medicare, Medicaid and/or Labor & Industries (L&I) • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Management or health care administration preferred • Strong technical background including experience with automated systems preferred • Experience with Provider One, MECA, FSS0 and/or CWF preferred
