• Manage commissioning teams in the assigned region and develop team capabilities • Follow operating and commissioning standards for quality, safety, and ongoing operation • Oversee travel budgets and organizational expenditure compliance • Assist with site construction activities and installations in coordination with project departments and external construction resources • Direct Cx Engineers to witness equipment testing and validate sequences of operations and operational documentation • Assist in revising comprehensive Level 1–5 commissioning plans for connectivity, infrastructure, security, life safety, electrical, mechanical, and building automation systems • Identify, track, and resolve commissioning issues with project teams • Provide findings and feedback to program management to drive continuous improvement • Support site teams with SOPs, MOPs, ERPs, and formal change management • Develop team metrics and lead quality improvement, standards compliance, vendor oversight, completions, and turnover • Drive innovation and environmentally conscious improvements in facilities programs and systems • Interface with vendors, Engineering, Development, and peer operations organizations • Maintain relationships and communication with staff and executive management • Support compliance with OSHA standards and national electrical and building codes • Ensure staff training and growth
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar HVAC or critical power certifications, or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree • Five or more years of direct engineering-related experience in a technical or critical environment • Preferred: ten or more years of direct engineering-related experience in a technical or critical environment • Preferred: five or more years of data center engineering, commissioning, project management, or equivalent experience • Preferred: three or more years of management/supervisory experience overseeing engineering or critical operations managers • Fluency and excellent working knowledge of data center critical and construction environments • Ability to develop solutions and technical strategic and tactical plans for complex projects • Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment, systems, and data center design • Experience with emergency backup systems, including generators, UPS, and battery backup • Knowledge of building monitoring/controls, electrical distribution, telecommunications, access controls, CCTV, life safety systems, and building subsystems • Knowledge and experience with project management and commissioning management software systems • Ability to lead multiple commissioning teams in various commissioning stages • Ability to travel an estimated 30–50% to other sites around the U.S.
