📋 Description

• Calibrate, install, maintain, and repair protective relays and associated equipment • Maintain, install, repair, and troubleshoot complex control systems, protective relay systems, substation and electric utility protection systems, SCADA systems, and station automation equipment • Interpret project-level scope of work and plan commissioning and resource scheduling • Provide team leadership to complete test activities efficiently, on time, safely, and without service interruptions • Interpret substation drawings, including single-line drawings, AC/DC schematics, panel wiring diagrams, and panel layout drawings • Write procedures and test plans supporting maintenance and construction activities • Develop isolation plans and functional guidelines • Test relay voltage and current inputs, local and SCADA metering, relays, trips, alarms, and function switches • Troubleshoot and repair substation relaying and control equipment • Commission substations, power equipment, relaying, pilot channel equipment, controls, and communications equipment • Provide project technical support to Field Service personnel • Mentor junior field service personnel • Serve as a protective-relaying subject matter expert • Serve as technical lead for small project teams

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of field experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing, and repairing substation relaying and control schemes • Experience desirable in substation design, substation construction, substation commissioning, or SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing • Knowledge of three-phase power systems and power system protection and control schemes • Experience with test equipment and test equipment software • Test equipment and tool/wiring usage • Ability to interpret wiring and elementary diagrams • Basic test skills to perform the listed duties • Basic PC skills • Ability to quickly learn and apply test procedures for various substation equipment • Effective communication with diverse groups, tailoring communication to the audience and situation • Ability to learn and apply client switching procedures and safety measures • Ability to reference and complete assignments described in applicable specifications • Ability to perform regular field work indoors and outdoors • Strong interpersonal, communication, business acumen, and management skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Valid driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading and writing
