📋 Description

• Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects • Support renewable energy developers and other clients with schedules and cost estimates • Design mat and pier type foundations for substation structures • Design substation structures ranging from equipment supports to overhead line towers • Apply applicable codes and client standards to general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, grading and fence plans, foundation plans and details, rigid bus arrangements, structure details, and bills of material • Develop steel structure models for rigid bus and equipment supports • Perform company QA/QC processes • Establish and maintain relationships with external business partners • Present information and respond to client questions • Participate in client meetings and job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data • Mentor less experienced staff on technical and project management skills • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines • Complete substation designs as necessary

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or master's in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution • 7+ years of experience performing civil structural engineering calculations • Proficiency with drafting programs such as AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus • Experience in transmission, distribution, and generating stations is a plus • Strong analytical and computer skills • Ability to identify necessary software to complete design work • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
