📋 Description

• Serve as a clinical documentation integrity subject matter expert and resource for CDI staff • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship to CDI team members • Assist with onboarding, training, and professional development activities • Support performance improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts • Partner with leadership to promote a collaborative and engaged team culture • Assist with implementation of CDI policies, procedures, workflows, communication strategies, and education plans • Support resolution of CDI and coding-related questions and documentation opportunities • Collaborate with CDI leadership on department initiatives and contracted client engagements • Participate in audits, quality reviews, and compliance monitoring activities • Conduct concurrent and follow-up reviews to ensure documentation accurately reflects patient severity, quality of care, and reimbursement considerations • Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, coding professionals, and compliance partners to improve documentation practices • Maintain productivity expectations while balancing leadership responsibilities • Stay current with ICD-10-CM guidelines, Coding Clinic updates, CMS regulations, and industry best practices • Partner with CDI leadership to develop and analyze operational metrics • Monitor team performance indicators, quality outcomes, and financial impact • Utilize data to identify trends and recommend process improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing required • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred • 3-5 years of recent inpatient acute care clinical experience in Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Telemetry, or Emergency Department • 2-3 years of recent frontline inpatient CDI experience • Active unrestricted U.S. Registered Nurse (RN) license required • Previous CDI Team Lead, Supervisor, Educator, or Management experience preferred • CCDS and/or CDIP certification preferred • Strong provider education and physician engagement experience preferred • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives preferred • Experience developing CDI metrics and reporting preferred • Multi-facility or consulting CDI experience preferred • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM guidelines, Coding Clinic updates, CMS regulations, and industry best practices
