📋 Description

• Serve as senior physician advisor for American Red Cross Training Services • Provide physician-level clinical governance, external credibility, and regulatory support across hospital, EMS, workplace, and aquatic domains • Partner with the Vice President, Chief Clinical Officer and senior leadership on clinical standards, protocols, emerging science, and organizational strategy • Ensure clinical content and programs reflect current ILCOR science, Scientific Advisory Council recommendations, and national best practices • Provide peer review and credentialing oversight for clinical content, instructional design, and program materials • Support quality improvement, regulatory compliance, accreditation, certification, and continuing education activities • Review high-acuity content including BLS, ALS, PALS, NALS, and prehospital education • Serve as primary physician liaison to the Scientific Advisory Council and support its sub-councils • Translate Scientific Advisory Council guidance into actionable program updates • Provide clinical validation and credibility in hospital, EMS, and prehospital environments • Support engagement with hospitals, health systems, EMS agencies, and regulatory bodies during contracts, program reviews, and partnerships • Represent the organization in relevant clinical, scientific, and regulatory forums • Provide signature authority on clinical documentation as required by state law and regulatory bodies • Partner with Clinical Directors and the Senior Director of Science and Education on enterprise clinical strategy • Advise on new product development, market expansion, and program enhancement

🎯 Requirements

• MD, DO or PhD in Biomedical Science or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience • Current, active, unrestricted U.S. medical license required • Minimum 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required • Strong command of evidence-based medicine, clinical governance, and healthcare regulatory environments • Ability to translate clinical science into operational programs and educational content • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary clinical and operational teams • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and applicable enterprise software systems • Ability to travel 10-20% • Active or prior EMS Medical Director experience preferred • Experience with resuscitation science, ILCOR-aligned guideline development, or AHA/ARC program leadership strongly preferred • Fellowship training in EMS, Critical Care, or Resuscitation preferred • Board Certification in EMS medicine preferred
