📋 Description

• Set the design vision for Search & Feeds across search, feed experiences, recommendations, and community discovery • Lead and develop design leaders and individual contributors • Coach design leaders and individual contributors, build clear ownership, and foster ambitious work and growth • Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify opportunities, establish priorities, and guide investment decisions • Drive interaction design, information architecture, accessibility, and execution quality from concept through launch • Improve clarity and user control over ranking, personalization, and recommendations • Design for specific-answer seekers, new-interest explorers, and returning community members • Evaluate how search and feeds affect participation, conversation quality, and community health • Measure usefulness, satisfaction, and discovery quality using research, experimentation, and behavioral data • Influence teams across Reddit, build alignment, and contribute to design standards and practices

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading design for complex consumer products at scale, with meaningful work in search, discovery, feeds, recommendations, or related experiences • Track record of building and developing design teams, including managing managers and supporting individual contributors • Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear strategies and compelling experiences • Deep expertise in interaction design and information architecture • Portfolio demonstrating design quality and measurable user impact • Experience partnering with Engineering, Product, Research, and Data Science on experiences shaped by ranking and personalization systems • Ability to balance user needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and broader product ecosystem health • Clear communication and ability to influence senior leaders, resolve competing priorities, and make decisions with incomplete information • Appreciation for community-driven products and different ways people seek information, participate, and build trust online
