📋 Description

• Report to the Chief Operating Officer • Stand up Bankrate's enterprise-grade risk and controls function from scratch • Serve as the first line of defense embedded in the business • Own day-to-day execution of risk mitigation, controls, and governance • Drive Bankrate's monthly Risk & Compliance Committee, including agenda-setting, follow-up tracking, and executive accountability • Run bi-weekly Risk & Compliance meeting governance • Respond to quarterly risk assessments and project-manage the resulting mitigation roadmap • Own project management across governance initiatives and maintain documentation and a historical archive • Use AI to design and establish the first-line-of-defense program, beginning with Mortgages • Monitor and test ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Manage third-party due diligence requests and documentation • Coordinate with CISO/IT Security and Red Ventures Corporate to create and refresh Bankrate's internal policy library • Validate and record adherence to approximately 60 internal policies • Serve as Bankrate's conduit to Red Ventures Procurement, Security, and Data Privacy processes • Manage certifications including SOC, EcoVadis, ISO, and WCAG • Build AI-enabled employee compliance training, such as Fair Lending training

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive risk, compliance, or control management experience • Financial services experience is required • Consumer home loans/mortgage experience is strongly preferred • Proven ability to project-manage complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive them to completion through influential communication • Proven track record using AI as a productivity tool, including building agentic workflows for repetitive, multi-step job responsibilities • Working knowledge of first-line/second-line risk frameworks, such as three lines of defense • Comfort operating as the first line rather than as an arm's-length reviewer • Comfort building processes, cadences, and documentation from scratch • Exceptional organizational and communication skills; able to drive dozens of open workstreams and communicate progress clearly to executives
