📋 Description

• Provide medical dosimetry services for Radiation Oncology • Perform treatment planning, calculations, chart checks, and record/verify information system duties • Work closely with radiation oncologists, physicists, the radiation therapy supervisor, and radiation therapists • Follow radiation, infection control, equipment, radioactive materials, QMP, and NRC safety requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) required for remote dosimetry • Board eligible and CMD must be obtained within one year of being hired for on-site dosimetry • Experience with Varian Treatment Planning System preferred • Experience with Aria Record/Verify Information System preferred • BLS required for on-site dosimetry and not required for remote dosimetry • Follow radiation safety policies and guidelines • Personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring • Proper use of radiation protection devices • Knowledge of Cerrobend alloy safety • Knowledge of hot lab safety and security requirements • Understanding of Code Red responsibilities • Follow infection control policies and procedures • Awareness of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) • Follow Radiation Oncology and Radiology Department safety policies and procedures • Safe operation of equipment • Competent operation of treatment planning and Record/Verify Information systems • Competence in calculations and documentation • Follow proper procedures for radioactive materials used in brachytherapy and implants • Adhere to Quality Management Program (QMP) • Follow Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements
