📋 Description

• Manage and execute the company’s national logistics and transportation approach in support of the Materials Marketing Group • Oversee third-party transportation partners to manage cost, ensure efficient service, and optimize carrier relationships • Identify opportunities and drive transportation and process improvements • Serve internal and external customers and support customer satisfaction and loyalty • Prioritize missed pickups and customer promises to ensure service commitments are kept • Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of raw and finished goods • Respond to same-day changes and next-day planning needs to improve route efficiency and route design • Collect, interpret, analyze, verify, and reconcile logistics, inventory, and asset-reliability data • Evaluate route issues, communicate with impacted customers, and resolve in-transit problems • Meet quarterly with stakeholders and management to recommend freight-lane optimization and cost reductions • Support replacement of software and brokerage tools, cross-train peers, and create departmental synergies • Track and support Key Performance Management goals • Promote safe operations and a culture of safety • Report driver performance issues or concerns to management • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Five years of prior experience working in the transportation field • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities • Process-oriented and results-oriented approach with commitment to organizational success • Ability to understand and execute time-sensitive tasks • Demonstrates and promotes ethical behavior • Experience in a customer-facing position • Skillful with Microsoft Office Suite • Commitment to safe operations and ability to follow required safety goals and objectives
