📋 Description

• Own embedded software development across product platforms from requirements and architecture through implementation, verification, and release • Shape firmware architecture and technical direction across product platforms • Establish and own IEC 62304 software development practices, including requirements management, architecture, risk controls, traceability, verification, and release documentation • Build internal software development expertise and reduce reliance on external development resources • Own software safety requirements and risk controls supporting IEC 60601 compliance • Develop and refine production firmware, including drivers, hardware interfaces, communications, and charging functions • Integrate new charging capabilities with controls and electrical engineering experts • Perform hardware and firmware integration and debugging using schematics and laboratory tools • Define and implement software verification strategies and automated regression tests • Create technical documentation and maintain traceability from requirements through implementation and verification • Bring new features from concept to release on real hardware • Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated experience developing embedded software in accordance with IEC 62304 • Strong understanding of software lifecycle processes, requirements management, architecture, risk controls, traceability, verification, and release documentation • Ability to establish, own, and continuously improve a practical, scalable software development lifecycle for a medical technology company • Demonstrated ownership of complex embedded software development, including architecture, implementation, hardware integration, verification, and production release • Experience successfully delivering embedded firmware in commercial products • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines • Strong embedded C and firmware architecture skills • Experience with resource-constrained MCUs, RTOS-based and bare-metal systems, peripheral interfaces, and maintainable, testable production code • Strong practical electronics knowledge and hands-on hardware-software integration experience • Experience with board bring-up, schematic interpretation, and debugging firmware-electronics interactions • Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and firmware debuggers • Strong verification, documentation, and communication skills • Experience developing software tests and maintaining clear development records • Familiarity with power electronics, closed-loop control, or wireless power-transfer systems (preferred)
