📋 Description

• Lead test strategy and quality standards across multiple projects • Decide what warrants automated coverage versus focused manual and exploratory testing • Build and maintain automated test suites in Playwright • Use BrowserStack to validate compatibility across browsers, devices, and platforms • Define and run manual and exploratory testing on new, ambiguous, or high-change-rate work • Translate requirements into test plans and acceptance criteria • Communicate quality risks, resolve scope disagreements, and negotiate testing timelines with stakeholders • Write defect reports in Jira, drive defects to resolution, and verify fixes through retesting • Use Jira linking and epic structures to maintain testing traceability and flag workflow friction • Mentor QA engineers in manual testing and automation practices • Assess quality risk across projects and recommend concrete paths forward • Evaluate and introduce useful testing tools and practices • Champion responsible use of AI tooling • Balance approximately 60% leadership and 40% hands-on craft

🎯 Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, ideally with exposure to consulting or multi-stakeholder environments • Strong, hands-on experience with Playwright for building and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks • Experience using BrowserStack or a comparable cross-browser/device testing platform • Deep grounding in manual, exploratory, and regression testing • Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete, actionable test plans and acceptance criteria • Strong Jira practice, including issue-linking for traceability and identifying workflow friction • Experience testing across a range of CMS or SaaS platforms • Exceedingly strong communication skills for presenting technical risk and testing tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Prior experience as a technical or testing lead on large or multi-phase projects • Familiarity with performance testing, accessibility testing, CI/CD pipelines, structured test-case formats, test case management tooling, debugging and performance investigation at scale, and SDLC processes and norms (preferred)
