📋 Description

• Provide specialized support, oversight, and leadership in a specified area of pharmacy • Assist in training, troubleshooting, and process improvement • Ensure pharmacy technician functions comply with state, federal, and local regulations • Complete assigned duties in the specialized area and support other pharmacy technician duties as needed • Develop and maintain training materials for the assigned specialty area • Coordinate and participate in training new technicians • Maintain competency, develop competency programs where appropriate, and document training and competency • Provide staff feedback, remediation, and additional training or information when needed • Develop and maintain SOPs • Maintain workflow, identify resource waste, and maximize efficiency • Seek and implement process improvement strategies with supervisors or pharmacy management • Ensure technicians follow proper processes and procedures • Provide data and metrics to management to monitor process efficiency and efficacy • Create and maintain online downtime procedures • Troubleshoot pharmacy software and hardware issues, including eRecord, Pyxis, and CII Safe • Handle complex issues, triage as necessary, and coordinate with vendor field technicians or support • Notify staff, supervisors, and management about workflow impacts or process changes • Assist with workflow issues throughout the department • Provide routine coverage to the specialized area during daily workflow and downtime • Act as a role model and resource for team members and other technicians • Maintain skills in other areas for staffing flexibility and assigned duties • Complete other assigned tasks appropriate for certified pharmacy technicians • Other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma required • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted • 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in related practice area preferred • Computer literacy and knowledge of pharmacy applications required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, together with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues required • Ability to multi-task, manage many details with accuracy, work under pressure, and maintain professional attitude required • Good moral character, including application of the ICARE values required • Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (currently PTCB) upon hire required • Completion of ASHP accredited training program or equivalent experience as a pharmacy technician upon hire required
