📋 Description

• Conduct Corporate Compliance audits, investigations, and training throughout all affiliates • Guide system administration and RGHS management on compliance with laws, regulations, and contract obligations • Serve as subject matter expert for building and optimizing the EMR, including clinical documentation, workflows, and revenue-cycle impacts • Manage projects independently, prepare governmental disclosures, and facilitate external regulatory audits • Coordinate and conduct audits covering revenue cycle, financial statements, payments, attestations, grants, employees, contractors, and payment agreements • Interview staff to identify causes of compliance issues • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and provide compliance education • Develop audit reports and present findings to the Compliance Director, RGHS Administration, and management • Develop corrective action plans and assist with implementation • Perform follow-up audits to verify monitoring effectiveness • Analyze government and professional-association studies for risk and opportunity • Identify compliance benchmarks and perform risk assessments • Monitor regulation changes affecting departments • Research and assist with approvals for new business growth • Support margin-improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance • Design and implement training on Fraud, Waste and Abuse, revenue-cycle documentation, coding, charging, billing, and denial appeals • Perform and manage internal investigations into non-compliance, fraud, waste, and abuse • Facilitate corrective action and monitor affected departments • Facilitate and manage external investigations by OIG, DOJ, OMIG, FBI, Medicare, and third-party payer fraud units

🎯 Requirements

• AAS or BS in Health Information Management, Health Care Administration, Finance, or Accounting, and experience with healthcare compliance; a combination of healthcare work experience, credentials and/or education will be considered • Minimum five years of healthcare experience with CMS and local payers regulations • RHIT, RHIA, CCS or CCS-P preferred • Relevant health care related certification or other experience may be considered in lieu of above certifications • Compliance Board Certification a plus • Strong communication, analytical, project management, and training skills • High attention to detail, critical thinking, decision-making, professionalism, and ability to handle confidential and sensitive work • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, contract obligations, CMS and payer regulations • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm • Sedentary work capabilities, including prolonged sitting and computer use
