📋 Description

• Lead neutral, timely, and comprehensive investigations into complex or high-risk matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, serious misconduct, and significant policy violations • Produce thorough, objective, and well-documented investigation reports, findings, and recommendations • Maintain complete and confidential investigative files meeting organizational, legal, and regulatory requirements • Coordinate with regional legal counsels on multi-state compliance risks • Coordinate organizational responses to EEOC and state or local agency complaints, inquiries, or claims • Monitor employment-law changes and recommend updates to policies, investigative practices, and leader guidance • Advise and coach school, regional, and network leaders through personnel processes, performance improvement initiatives, and documentation workflows • Audit at-will termination, suspension, and non-renewal actions for consistency and liability reduction • Train campus leaders on staff relations, conflict management, and healthy workplace cultures • Facilitate resolution of serious workplace conflicts • Mediate complex interpersonal disputes • Identify systemic concerns and recommend targeted interventions • Own annual mandatory training completion through Vector, including tracking, follow-up, escalation, and reporting • Audit personnel files, I-9 records, and other employment documentation • Oversee HR records governance, data integrity, confidentiality, access, and retention • Review HR systems and processes for compliance and coordinate improvements • Coordinate external audits and required reporting, including EEO-1 and OSHA-related requests • Coordinate HR and Talent responses to authorizer reporting and compliance requests

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of dedicated Employee Relations experience • At least 3+ years managing multi-state workplace investigations • Expertise in investigation planning, interviewing, credibility assessment, evidence analysis, findings development, and investigative report writing • Strong working knowledge of federal employment law • Experience interpreting and applying state-specific employment requirements • Prior experience within K-12 education, Charter Management Organizations (CMOs), or highly regulated multi-site environments is strongly preferred • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related fields • Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR are highly valued • Ability to travel up to 25% to regional school campuses for complex on-site investigations or leadership workshops
