📋 Description

• Complete substation (Air & GIS) switchyard design packages, including operating single line diagrams, layouts, sections, bus calculations/selections, ground grid, cable tray/trench/duct bank, lighting, lightning protection, prefabricated control building layouts, AC/DC station service supply, voltage drop, conduit/cable tray fill, and bills of materials. • Complete substation protection and control design packages, including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts. • Complete renewable energy collector system design packages for medium-voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, AC/DC inverters, power cables, AC/DC distribution systems, PV plants, battery energy storage systems, and wind turbines. • Interface with internal and external team members, including electrical engineers, electrical designers, drafters, and project managers. • Take ownership of projects to meet and exceed client expectations. • Support development of standards, optimizations, and processes. • Provide execution plans with strong follow-through.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of diploma or bachelors degree in drafting / electrical design • 5+ years related experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D, and/or AutoCAD Map3D in power delivery, renewable energy, or power generation • Strong CAD skills using layers, blocks, XREFs, coordinate systems, annotations, and dimensioning while following company and industry drafting standards • Must be authorized for full-time work in Canada • Ability to work on multi-discipline projects • Excellent time management and organization skills • Excellent computer skills; proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with advanced MS Office skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and make recommendations • Ability to collaborate within a team environment • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal guidance • 3D Modeling experience a plus • Experience with PVcase or PVCAD a plus • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry relating to utility-scale wind and solar projects, including MV power systems and AC/DC distribution systems, a plus • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems a plus • Understanding of applicable industry codes and standards including ANSI/IEEE, NESC, NEC, and CSA, a plus • Manufacturer experience with power transformers, circuit breakers, AIS/GIS switchgear, AC/DC inverters, and similar equipment, a plus
