📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Design-to-Cost and Producibility Engineers across multiple product lines and programs • Establish and implement value engineering strategies, processes, tools, and best practices • Drive value engineering CORE events across Collins Aerospace's five SBUs • Partner with Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance on cost-informed design decisions • Shape requirements, design architecture, and design choices to reduce cost and production risk • Develop and execute cost modeling and should-cost methodologies for design trades, supplier negotiations, proposals, BOEs, ROMs, and business cases • Oversee and conduct producibility assessments, DFMA analyses, manufacturing risk evaluations, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives • Integrate cost, schedule, risk, and producibility considerations into program plans and technical baselines • Provide engineering-based cost inputs across the product lifecycle • Develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms for product cost performance, producibility index, and cost reduction outcomes • Foster innovation, continuous improvement, and value engineering excellence across the organization

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including design, manufacturing, value engineering, or cost engineering • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams • Experience with DTC, DFMA, producibility engineering, or cost modeling methodologies • Ability to influence decision making in early design phases across multiple levels • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract • Master's degree in Engineering preferred • Aerospace/Defense development and production experience preferred • Experience with model-based engineering, digital manufacturing approaches, or advanced cost modeling tools preferred • Experience with DFx tools such as aPriori and DFMPro preferred • Prior success driving cost reduction or producibility improvements on complex products preferred
