📋 Description

• Serve as software project engineer across pursuit, bidding, planning, execution, and sustainment phases • Provide project management and technical direction • Lead engineers ranging from entry-level to highly experienced • Communicate technical progress, risks, opportunities, financial data, and project-management information • Ensure consistency with Collins Aerospace technical engineering processes • Define development plans and ensure compliance with DO-178 and other certification requirements • Lead certification efforts through audits • Drive software-team best practices and software-project execution • Provide guidance and coaching to engineers developing as leads, CAMs, or PEs • Design, develop, and verify avionics display software across bare-metal and RTOS platforms

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field • Ability to lead software development teams and work effectively with others • Experience managing technical projects, including schedule, earned value management, and risk management • Ability to drive changes and best practices to peers • Demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills, and interpersonal skills • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills • Ability to think critically and understand impacts beyond the immediate problem • U.S. citizenship required; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under the program/contract • Preferred: Avionics regulatory and certification experience with TSO, MIL-STD, DO-160, DO-254, DO-178B/C, DO-297, and APR4754A • Preferred: Embedded C++ or platform-level software experience • Preferred: RTOS experience • Preferred: Experience with DOORS, PREP, JIRA, and Confluence
