• Serve as a key technical contributor to department-supported programs and products • Design RF systems for challenging thermal and high-vibration environments • Lead programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) • Liaise with programs to ensure technical, cost, and schedule success • Oversee junior engineers’ job assignments and performance • Apply electronics packaging design and manufacturing knowledge • Perform or support thermal and structural design and analysis • Work with electrical component design, construction, and failure modes • Apply printed wiring board and circuit card assembly processes and best practices • Work with surface-mount and through-hole component installation processes and failure modes • Apply metal fabrication and finishing methods • Design mechanical RF isolation • Use environmental test methods and equipment • Provide technical guidance and mentor matrix teams • Make technical presentations and establish customer relationships • Maintain positive relationships with functional and program leadership
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience • Experience with mechanical design, development and/or implementation of defense-related electronic systems • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) • Experience with ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures • Minimum three years creating and documenting mechanical designs in Pro/Engineer/CREO or similar modeling tools • U.S. citizenship required • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance • Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day 1
