• Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure the best deals • Develop and implement purchasing strategies for lumber and building materials • Analyze market trends and adjust procurement plans • Place orders, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely product delivery • Manage and resolve order fulfillment and quality issues • Monitor and analyze purchasing costs • Develop strategies to reduce expenses and improve cost-efficiency while maintaining product quality • Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels • Assist in forecasting demand and adjusting procurement schedules • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and performance metrics • Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and legal regulations • Stay updated on industry standards and best practices
• Based in the Mid-West or West Coast areas • At least 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field • Proven experience as a Procurement Specialist in the lumber field • Strong negotiation and contract management skills • Excellent understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices • Proficiency in procurement software and tools • Exceptional organizational and time management skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Occasional travel to branch locations required
