📋 Description

• Support Ryder’s Continuous Improvement culture across the business • Apply continuous improvement methods to new and existing operations • Identify, lead, and drive operational change through data-driven continuous improvement, engineering, and automation efforts • Use data analytics, engineering methodologies, and Ryder lean tools to identify and eliminate root causes • Collect data and perform statistical analysis • Map and document processes • Identify process gaps and recommend and implement process improvements • Develop and execute continuous improvement and transformation plans • Drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development metrics • Manage and complete high-impact continuous improvement projects • Assess continuous improvement initiatives and recommend future activities • Support start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs, go-live, and steady-state certifications • Identify and support automation projects • Interact with account management and customers • Coach employees in continuous improvement, quality assurance, and lean principles • Apply engineering methods including product slotting, labor standards studies, layouts, flow optimization, data profiling, analysis, and resource modeling • Potentially supervise continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals • Participate in employment decisions and manage performance with manager guidance • Facilitate and execute Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Events through planning, delivery, follow-up, and sustainment • Coach process owners on lean methods and operational excellence • Provide regular reports measuring progress against site objectives • Make inventory and/or supply chain strategy recommendations • Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the QMS • Implement and monitor a standardized corrective action system • Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements • Perform quality assurance functions for start-ups or expansions • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and seven (7) years or more related work experience required; or master’s degree and five (5) years related experience; if MBA, undergraduate degree must be in Engineering • Seven (7) years or more related experience in warehousing, transportation, and/or manufacturing required • Expert Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio • Intermediate data visualization and database programming skills, including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and DAX • Intermediate proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization • Advanced understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics • Advanced experience with warehouse design tools such as CAD/AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems • Advanced knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse types, warehouse layout/design, lean methods, material handling solutions, and automation • Knowledge of powered industrial truck applications, racking and storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation equipment, and automation solutions such as AS/RS • Knowledge of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks • Knowledge of equipment types including dry van, temperature control, flat bed, and specialized equipment • Knowledge of transportation, network design, transportation management, and mapping tools including JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, and Tableau • Lean Six Sigma required • cPMP preferred • ISO/QMS preferred • APICS and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification preferred • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills • Ability to build professional relationships across organizational levels • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Flexibility and self-direction in a fast-paced environment • Multitasking, organization, and time-management skills • Team management, system implementation, and change implementation skills • Ability to lead cross-functional and complex continuous improvement projects from initiation through sustained results
