• Support the growth of Supply Chain Solutions and Dedicated Transportation Solution offerings • Design solutions that deliver financial value to customers • Understand customer business needs and provide feasible, sustainable designs aligned with customer needs and Ryder capabilities • Support pursuit teams in shaping win plans consistent with solution designs • Write and deliver compelling proposals that influence customer decisions • Support awarded business through startup and transition design assumptions to Operations and SCE CI resources • Participate as a key team member throughout new-business pursuit stages from start through successful startup transition • Specialize across multiple design disciplines and apply advanced analytical techniques • Manage or mentor a small team of Solutions Design Engineers • Execute processes to create, redesign, or optimize logistics networks • Communicate designs and solutions to internal stakeholders and clients • Review RFPs, clarify gaps, develop hypotheses, and support bid submissions • Validate, cleanse, and profile data; develop baselines and modeling scenarios • Calculate labor, equipment, facility, and expense requirements • Develop process flows, concepts of operations, value propositions, and systems concepts with IT • Coordinate with Pricing and other functions on cost and pricing models • Develop optimization scenarios and strategies • Meet with customers and cross-functional bid-response teams • Support technical reviews and design-validation meetings • Follow up on implementation by validating and modifying deployed processes • Improve engineering tools and methodologies using industry best practices • Lead consulting projects by understanding customer pain points and presenting solutions
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering required • Six or more years of experience in the transportation industry required • Six or more years of experience in warehousing and/or manufacturing required • Simio experience required • Expert Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Access, Excel, and PowerPoint, required • Advanced knowledge of effective metrics programs and sustainable, measurable network design required • Extensive knowledge of dedicated services and managed transportation networks • Knowledge of transportation equipment including dry van, temperature control, flatbed, and specialized equipment • Expert transportation design tools knowledge, including JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, and Tableau • Extensive warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse types, layout/design, and Lean methods knowledge • Knowledge of material handling and automation, including powered industrial trucks, racking, storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor/sortation equipment, and AS/RS • Knowledge of warehouse design tools including AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, simulation software, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems • Ability to analyze and design complex transportation and warehousing networks • Superb data organization and cleansing skills • Ability to influence project teams using facts, statistics, and analytics • Ability to comprehend complex supply chain and transportation solutions • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills • Ability to translate complex designs, concepts, and regulations into accessible terms • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across organizational levels • DOT regulated role
