📋 Description

• Prepare and record routine journal entries under the direction of the Senior Accountant • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies • Review monthly transactions for completeness, accuracy, appropriate coding, and supporting documentation • Assist with accruals, prepaid expenses, reclassifications, and other month-end close activities • Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for monthly and annual financial reporting • Support year-end close and external audit activities • Prepare recurring financial schedules and reports for R&D programs • Update financial planning models with actual results, approved budgets, forecasts, and staffing information • Validate formulas, investigate variances, and assist with monthly financial reviews • Prepare reconciled general ledger activity, labor data, and invoice information for Earned Value Management reporting and program analysis • Assist with budget-to-actual reporting and research significant variances • Support management reports and financial presentations • Review R&D timesheet coding, communicate coding updates, and resolve discrepancies with staff • Maintain R&D accounting structures in NetSuite, including creation and management of fund codes • Identify opportunities to improve and automate financial reporting using Smartsheet, SharePoint, and other business systems • Support implementation and adoption of new financial systems, tools, and technologies • Perform other duties as assigned • Work closely with Finance, Program Controls, R&D, Human Resources, and other departments to maintain accurate financial records and ensure costs are properly recorded, supported, and allocated

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience including U.S. Government (USG) contract accounting • 2 or more years supporting research, development, or grant-funded programs preferred • Strong knowledge of U.S. Government contracting requirements, cost principles, and invoicing processes • Proficiency with NetSuite, including NetSuite Planning & Budgeting (NSPB), or similar accounting software • Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll software • Experience with timekeeping software • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word, as well as Zoom video conferencing • Ability to learn new systems and requirements • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, flexibility, and a strong work ethic • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment • Strong ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Subject to a criminal background investigation • Request for three professional references • Verification of education/degrees • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship • Preferred: experience supporting U.S. Government contracts, grants, or federally funded programs • Preferred: familiarity with government contracting requirements, cost principles, invoicing, and documentation standards • Preferred: experience supporting research, development, scientific, or grant-funded programs • Preferred: experience with NetSuite or a comparable enterprise resource planning system • Preferred: experience with NetSuite Planning and Budgeting or similar budgeting software • Preferred: experience with Paylocity, ClickTime, Bill.com, American Express reporting, Smartsheet, or SharePoint • Preferred: familiarity with Uniform Guidance, Earned Value Management, or Incurred Cost Submissions • Preferred: experience assisting with financial, government contract, or compliance audits
