📋 Description

• Work with all facets of the business on product, process, and application-related developments • Consult with customers on process equipment, process setup, and product applications in Pipe & Profile, Wire & Cable, Film, Sheet, and other extrusion markets • Work directly with customers independently of other commercial support • Lead product introduction trials at customer facilities, including equipment and process analysis, trial plans, reports, and stakeholder discussions • Lead investigations and resolutions of product-related customer issues • Support Sales in investigating, resolving, and documenting customer quality complaints • Audit competitive products to improve existing products and support development of new products • Provide technical input on market trends and changing market conditions • Build business case proposals for New Product Developments • Support maintenance of technical certifications such as NSF, UL, PPI, and CSA • Independently execute customer service calls for new or existing product trials • Participate in industry consortiums and competitive intelligence gathering • Conduct customer training, provide start-up assistance, and educate customers on products • Maintain working knowledge of applications, product properties, processability, and polymer product lines • Collaborate with customers to optimize manufacturing processes for quality and production output • Conduct hands-on extrusion trials, including machine operation and processing parameter setup • Travel up to 50% of the time

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with Polyolefins, XLPEs, Polyamides, EPR and EPDM rubbers, Nylons, and PVC in an application development, process development, technical service, production, or quality control capacity • Minimum of 5 years working with twin screw and single screw extrusion processes • Experience setting up pipe and wire extrusion equipment • Familiarity with crosshead dies, pressure or tubular extrusion, continuous catenary vulcanization lines, and moisture cross-linkable extrusion processes • Excellent communication skills • Service-oriented approach • Leadership ability on technical and commercial topics • Self-directed ability • Ability to interface and collaborate across all levels of the company • Experience developing executive-level relationships and leveraging them to close business • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities • Ability to conduct hands-on extrusion trials at customer facilities, including machine operation and setting processing parameters • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, planned and/or unplanned
