📋 Description

• Oversee preparation, documentation, and analysis of quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, 10-K, 10-Q, and MD&A • Direct the close and consolidation process across accounting and finance, retail banners, channels, and foreign subsidiaries • Ensure reporting adheres to US GAAP, applicable reporting requirements, and deadlines • Prepare reference books and executive presentation materials for accounting and disclosure reviews • Research authoritative US GAAP literature and resolve complex accounting issues • Draft technical accounting memos and lead implementation and remediation workstreams • Lead accounting evaluation and documentation for revenue recognition, lease accounting, impairments, debt, equity, business combinations, divestitures, fair value, segments, and consolidation • Monitor and implement emerging accounting standards, pronouncements, and regulatory guidelines • Serve as primary external audit liaison and manage audit workflows and support documentation • Maintain SOX internal control frameworks across financial reporting and technical accounting workflows • Partner with Commercial, Real Estate, Legal, Tax, Technology, People, and FP&A teams • Translate complex accounting standards into actionable business impacts for executives and non-finance stakeholders • Build, mentor, and lead a team of technical accounting and financial reporting professionals • Foster analytical rigor, cross-functional partnership, and continuous process improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required • Master’s in Accounting / MBA preferred • 8–10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience • Strong foundation in Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience • Proven track record in industry corporate accounting and financial reporting • Exceptional technical writing ability for audit-ready accounting memos and executive-level MD&A commentary • Ability to synthesize GAAP rules and communicate financial narratives to executives, auditors, and board members • Strong cross-functional relationship-building skills • Precise financial data management and adherence to reporting deadlines • Proficiency in enterprise ERPs such as Workday, SAP, or Oracle • Proficiency in financial reporting/consolidation software such as Workiva, OneStream, Hyperion, or EPM • Proven experience leading digital transformation or finance-system implementation projects
