📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with Infection Prevention and Control staff under leadership to accomplish Infection Prevention program goals and objectives • Evaluate infection control trends and practices • Provide educational programs for employees • Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and reportable illness • Evaluate and report statistical information • Consult on asepsis, disinfection, sterilization, isolation, disease transmission, and related issues • Monitor compliance standards, regulations, strategies, and evidence-based practices • Evaluate and improve patient/resident outcomes • Assist with research needs and assigned special projects • Use computer programs and applications for data collection and analysis • Collaborate with operational teams and continuously evaluate current processes

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • In lieu of education, an Associate’s degree and 5 years of applicable experience may be considered • Minimum of two years experience in a clinical, nursing, healthcare safety, infection prevention, accreditation, or healthcare management setting required • Basic understanding and working knowledge of microbiology and epidemiology • Understanding of or willingness to learn computer programs and applications for data collection and analysis • Good interpersonal skills • Willingness to seek out new information and knowledge • Ability to think critically and problem solve effectively • Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC®) or equivalent preferred • If degree is in nursing, graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred • If a licensed registered nurse (RN), currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs and/or possess multistate licensure if in an NLC state • Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
