📋 Description

• Register patients/residents and schedule appointments and procedures • Greet patients/residents and verify demographics • Create electronic files and provide, scan, and route forms and documents • Educate patients/residents and capture signatures on necessary paperwork • Establish financial responsibility and assist with payment arrangements • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and account balance payments • Address and resolve registration work queue issues, denied insurance claims, and registration database maintenance • Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization • Arrange interpreter services and check patients/residents in and out • Collaborate with nursing teams and providers to coordinate appointments • Coordinate provider schedules, resolve work queue issues, and manage recalls and waitlists • Operate multi-line telephones and, depending on location, serve as a switchboard operator • Prepare and coordinate charts and supporting provider documents • Coordinate financial assistance, health information management, reports, assessments, Telemed appointments, provider and schedule maintenance, billing, reminders, admissions, faxes, copies, and supplies • Mentor new Patient Access Representatives and other staff • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a respectful, cooperative environment

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Post-secondary education helpful • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting • Medical terminology helpful • Customer service skills essential • Six months' customer service experience desired • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information • Excellent customer service and ability to empathize with patients and their situations • Working knowledge of medical terminology • Professional written communication when making notes • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
